Renesas electronics launches RZ/T2L MPURenesas electronics introduced the RZ/T2L MPU, a high-speed, high-precision real-time control of high-performance MPU through EtherCAT “Accurate real-time control is essential to improve the productivity of industrial systems and product quality,” said Hitoshi Shirakabe, Renesas's vice president of industrial automation. “Our RZ/T2L can make this happen and, with its support for the rapidly expanding EtherCAT market, it will take performance to a new level and accelerate automation of plants and buildings as well as medical equipment.” RZ/T2L is a high-performance MPU with EtherCAT for high-speed, high-precision real-time control. RZ/T2L runs on an arm Cortex-R52 kernel with a maximum frequency of 800 mhz and is tightly coupled to the CPU with a large amount of memory (576 KB) to reduce the execution time fluctuations associated with using cache memory, and provide deterministic and high-speed response processing. RZ/T2L has a seamless connection with RZ/T2M in CPU core, peripheral functions and LLPP (low-delay peripheral port) bus, which can be used in higher performance control systems such as AC servo. In addition, RZ/T2L provides a compatible and extensible software platform with Renesas MPU and MCU. It allows customers to leverage their software assets to develop new models. Features: • CPU: ARM Cortex-r52, maximum operating frequency 800MHz • Ethercat Slave Controller • The trigonometric function accelerator • Memory: 576KB (with ECC) of tightly coupled memory and 1MB (with ECC) of internal RAM • Encoder Interface: 2ch (supports A-FORMATTM, END2.2, BiSS-c, high face DSL, FA-CODER) • Highest support for functional security SIL3 Motor Current Loop & LT; 1 μs • XSPI (Octa/Quad) support • Serial host I/F • PWM: dual-motor controlled 3-phase complementary PWM output • ADC: 12-bit x 2 cells • ΔΣ I/F: 6ch • Package: 196 pin BGA • Voltage: Kernel 1.1 V, I/O 3.3/1.8 V Application: • AC servo • Industrial Motors • Frequency Converters • Industrial Robots • Medical Equipment • wind turbines • Elevators ZT2L inherits the hardware architecture of RZT2M, a high-end product, and RZN2L, a Industrial Ethernet communications product, and focuses on the fast-growing EtherCAT communications market described above. It uses the same main CPU as RZ/T2M, with an arm Cortex-R52 operating at up to 800MHz. In addition, its peripheral functions are consistent with RZ/T2M, which can achieve high-speed, high-precision real-time control. Also, its industrial communications segment is focused on Ethercat, with a market-proven Beckhoff Ethercat slave controller.
